Print of the Month April 2026 - 'Glen Affric Dawn'
For 2026 I am excited to be introducing a new monthly print offer! This will give people who follow my work and visit the Gallery an opportunity to pick up a print at a reduced price. Only 10 prints in 2 sizes will be offered at the reduced price - once these have sold, the print will be offered on general sale at the full price and will never be discounted again.
I will be choosing a new image each month throughout 2026. These will be pictures that have never been displayed in the gallery before and will be a mixture of recent work and old favourites that for whatever reason have not been put on display. I absolutely love printing new work - from image editing through to choosing the right paper and then making final adjustments, seeing the image go from screen to a finished print I can hold is incredibly rewarding. The fact that I produce and mount my own work here at the gallery is something that I’m incredibly proud of - the whole process is undertaken with quality and attention to detail at it’s very heart.
April’s Print - ‘Glen Affric Dawn’
Location: Glen Affric
Print Description:
Glen Affric is often celebrated as one of the most beautiful glens in Scotland — a sweeping tapestry of ancient Caledonian pinewood, glittering lochs like Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin, rugged mountains, and mist‑shrouded moorland.
Designated as a National Nature Reserve and Caledonian Forest Reserve, it hosts one of the largest surviving tracts of native Scots pine in the country, alongside rich birch and oak woodlands. I make sure to visit the Glen every autumn and try to coincide my trip with the best of the autumn colour. This is a favorite composition of mine and one that I have returned too across the seasons and in all conditions.
On this occasion, low lying mist was flowing through the valley and providing additional depth to the scene, and the first rays of the rising sun were just hitting the foreground pine trees.
Paper Choice:
